Subject: Requesting your signature as support
We feel it is time to recognize that the climate is changing. We have been working to build our organization and our message throughout the Uncompahgre Valley. Through extensive meetings, presentations, letters to the editor and collecting signatures we have been able to establish CCL Montrose in the public eye.
This year we want to establish additional support for our effort to decrease greenhouse gas emissions. We are starting with individual, and group contacts.
Our focus is clear. The way to get there is not. We can’t throw a switch and all of a sudden have 100% renewable energy everywhere.. We know It will take painstaking work over a period of time to transition from the way we have used energy with coal and gas, to use of renewable energies including solar, wind and geothermal.
We are asking you to support our efforts to:
- Promote greenscapes to capture carbon.
- Spearhead clean energy produced for Valley’s electricity
- Work with local governments to utilize renewable energy
- Assist homeowners to apply and weatherize their homes
- Facilitate local transportation options.
- Identify greater efficiencies for new buildings
- Trumpet local renewable energy successes
- Establish a Resilience Board to review projects through a climate change lens.
To accomplish our goals we need your help and support.
